Sexy Bookmarks Sidebar Widget

March 25th, 2010

It seems that all I post these days is WordPress plugins I’ve developed. This one is really simple, it just wraps the SexyBookmarks plugin and turns it into a sidebar widget.

It isn’t complicated, but it serves a purpose. Download it here.

Thanks go to the developers of SexyBookmarks and Little Bloke Fitness who sponsored the development.

Question… if I am making a custom sidebar for a particular template, what code would I use to add this widget? Is there a single line of php that would call this? I’m now to coding, so forgive the “beginner” question.

    Thanks!

Jeff > Crude, but straight and to the point. A demo or screenshot would be beneficial. Would McDonalds survive if not for the pictures on the menu? Thanks!

I could give you a screenshot, but all it would say is “Fatal Error.” Granted, WordPress warned me that it hadn’t been tested with the current version, but I had high hopes.

    Sorry, developer dude. Deactivated.

What good is a sidebar widget when it only works with the plugin ALSO deactivated?? There needs to be a way to have the SexyBookmarks plugin active, but not show bookmarks so that you can then activate the widget….I dont want bookmarks all over my page…

Hi I just installed sexy sidebar & got
Fatal error: Call to undefined function selfserv_sexy() in /home3/howtolq7/public_html/facebookatmreview/wp-content/plugins/sexy-bookmarks-sidebar-plugin/sexy-bookmarks-sidebar-plugin.php on line 24

    duh?

How do I get just the footer widget to show up? I don’t want links on the main page AND in the footer… that would work well for the blog page, but not for the content pages.

Hey, so far so good on the plugin. I have it installed on Http://ginastouch.com – I have 9 bookmarks selected in Sexy bookmarks and it looks nice and even on the sidebar. My only issue is that I really want the facebook like button as well as the google+1 to show up in the same sidebar widget, either above or below the links. Any way to make this happen?

please! I really love the sexy bookmarks and since my site isn’t a blog, having the links in the sidebar seems to be the only good option. I think that the google +1 would really help me out – thanks!

Like the idea of this widget. Two suggestions:

    1) Yes, please add the FB like and Google+1 buttons to widget. (They look awful in my pages/posts, but the widget area would probably work, maybe place them below the other buttons.)

    2) Maybe take about 20px off the top of the background image used in the widget (red “sharing is caring” etc.)

I agree with previous posts. A screenshot would be highly appreciated. Also, have the above questions been addressed? I need to know before I install this plugin. Thanks
